Hello!
I'm Mandy: an artist and biomedical engineer. You will always catch me making something.
I come from an eclectic background. Having lived in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and the United States, I've had the privilege of growing up with different cultures. Additionally, I was interested in art and the life sciences from a young age.
In my multidisciplinary practice, I delve into engineering's greatest feat: the human body. This led me to study biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan (B.S.E.) and the Johns Hopkins Center for Bioengineering Innovation & Design (M.S.E.). It was during my education that my technical and artistic interests became deeply intertwined. My artistic eye plays a role in my engineering practice in the medical device space, and engineering serves as a medium to expand my art.
Apart from biomedical art, much of my subject matter is exploratory, spanning the natural world and humanity. I capture the fleeting moments of the ocean before a wave passes, the human experience through portraiture, and so much more. My art is also random and playful, ranging from 3D-printed croissant lamps to sexy fried egg characters. I have exhibited both within the U.S. and internationally.

Displayed at the annual MSRS (Medical Student Research Symposium) at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where I served as the Clinical Research Artist. Illustrated a piece on the glymphatic system in a sleep-deprived environment.
