Cherry wood
Constructed during the inaugural Tree to Table course in the Winter 2024 Semester at the University of Michigan
In August 2023, nearly 100 fully grown trees in the Nichols Arboretum fell due to a heavy windstorm. These tables crafted from sustainably sourced Black Cherry wood, were built from trees toppled by a windstorm at the University of Michigan’s Nichols Arboretum in August 2023. Its creation reflects a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Bringing in a variety of disciplines, our student team constructed these two tables. These currently reside in the new Transboundary Center (Room 2536) at the University of Michigan to be used for meetings, conferences, and catering events.
